It also contains calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, plus virtually all know vitamins. The minerals are in a balance form, which promotes absorption". (Nutritional Healing, Phyllis A. Balch p. 73) "It also aids in the assimilation of protein, fats, and carbohydrates, and is an excellent blood purifier. Alfalfa alkalizes and detoxifies the body. The food heals stomach, duodenal, and colon disorders as well as pancreatitis, and is an effective anti-inflammatory". (Nutritional Healing, Phyllis A. Balch, p. 74)
"Wheat grass contains a great variety of vitamins, minerals, and trace elements. According to Dr. Wigmore, 1 pound of fresh wheatgrass is equal in nutritional value to nearly 25 pounds of the choicest vegetables...The molecular structure of chlorophyll resembles that of hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying protein of red blood cells, and this may be the reason for the effectiveness of wheatgrass. The key difference between the two is that the metallic atom in the middle of each molecule of human hemoglobin is iron, while the metallic atom at the center of a molecule of chlorophyll is magnesium. In experiments on anemic animals, blood counts returned to normal after four to five days of receiving chlorophyll". (Nutritional Healing, Phyllis A. Balch p. 91)

It also, "increase bile flow in your gallbladder and improves how your body processes fat and cholesterol". (James A. Duke, Healing Foods p. 186) "Unlike many conventional diuretics, which cause loss of potassium, dandelion leaves contain high levels of potassium, giving a net gain of the mineral". (Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine, Andrew Chevallier, p. 141)
Horsetail has been traditional used for kidney and bladder problems, arthritis, bleeding ulcers and tuberculosis. "Horsetail is very rich in silica, which strengthens connective tissue and combats arthritis. Silicon is a vital component for bone and cartilage formation". (Herbal Healing, Phyllis A. Purple Dulse is a good source of minerals and vitamins compared with other vegetables and it contains all trace elements needed by humans and has a high protein content.
Red Clovers contain high levels of isoflavones that are phytoestrogenic. "Within the last few years, red clover isoflavones have been shown not only to have therapeutic use during menopause, helping to reduce the impact of falling estrogen levels, but also to exert a protective effect on the heart and circulation in menopausal women with low estrogen levels. Because the isoflavones are able to "compete with the body's own estrogen, it is now thought that red clover may be helpful in preventing and treating breast cancer". Red Clovers "has traditionally been used to treat breast cancer. A concentration decoction was applied to the tumor site, which apparently encouraged the tumor to grow outward and eventually clear the body" (Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine Andrew, Chevallier, p. 277)

Nettle can be taken orally or applied to the skin. Since the late 1990s studies have shown system, such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-1B, and may be useful in treating osteoarthritis". (Healing Foods, James A. Duke p. 288) Nettle is high in flavonoids and potassium.
Watercress "is part of the crucifer or mustart family and was approved by the German Commission E for respiratory infections". (Healing Foods, James A. Carrots are a good source of beta-carotene, with one large carrot providing 6 milligrams. Also foods rich in vitamin A such as carrot are important for bone health. Vitamin A "RDA is 3,000 IU for men and 2,000 IU for women". (Healing Foods, James A. Duke, p. 292) Beta-carotene from 1 cup, cooked carrot, equal 26,571 IU; from 1 cup, canned, spinach, equal 20,974 IU. Carrot is known to heal cataracts, angina, osteoporosis, psoriasis and help protect against wrinkles (look at Bugs bunny, he is over 70 and still looks young).
Beet juice is great to help detoxify the liver, to help reduce congestion in the body. Beets are rich in the nutrient betaine, which is important for cardiovascular health. (University of Maryland, Article on Betaine)
Pomegranates help your body fight off cancer, heart disease, diabetes, obesity and menopause symptoms. "Pomegranates have been shown to be cholesterol and heart disease fighters in many studies. As powerful as it is, however, that antioxidant potential pales in comparison to the phytoestrogens in a pomegranate. Just half a fruit may contain the estrogenic equivalent of a daily dose of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), a common treatment for women struggling with menopause symptoms". (The Green Pharmacy guide to Healing Food, James A. Duke p. 27)
