Ingredients Summary

Garcinia Cambogia – Keeps fatty acids from being stored as fats, aids fat metabolism and reduces hunger. Garcinia Cambogia has high contents of hydroxycitrate (HCA). Preliminary research suggests that garcinia inhibits the accumulation of lipid droplets in fat cells and thereby reduces lipid levels and decreases lipid accumulation in the liver. The hydroxycitrate acid (HCA) found in garcinia is also theorized to improve exercise endurance by increasing lipid oxidation and decreasing carbohydrate utilization.

Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) – Has iodine content, and it appears to raise metabolic levels by increasing the production of hormone by the thyroid gland, although this effect could be because of poorly functioning thyroids. "In one clinical trial (Italy 1976), patients taking bladderwrack lost much more weight than the control group". (Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine, Andrew Chevallier p. 213) Bladderwrack contains polyphenols and polysaccharides which appears to have antiviral and anti-HIV activity.

Angelica Root (Angelica Dahurica) – Prevents weight gain caused by excess insulin. "Chemicals in wild angelica cause insulin to move sugar into muscle cells rather than fat into fat cells, thus helping to prevent weight gain". (Prescription for Herbal Healing, Phyllis A. Balch p.142). Produce a soothing effect on the digestive system because it helps relief indigestion, gas and colic.

Bitter Orange – the whole, unripe fruit of the mandarin orange is use. Bitter Orange is used in herbal medicine to improve circulation and liver function, stimulate gastrointestinal function, and treat indigestion, also helps with blood pressure, digestion, constipatin, gastric and abdominal distention. "Bitter orange has the ability to bind to a specific subgroup of B cells receptors called B-3 receptors. This binding effect causes an increase in the rate at which fat is released from body stores for energy production, and increases the resting metabolic rate. (Herbal Healing, Phyllis A. Balch p. 33)

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinalis) – Dandelion is a diuretic used to reduce the volume of fluid in the body and reduce short term weight gain caused by eating too much salt. Dandelion is an effective detoxifier which is used to remove toxins from the liver and kidney. It removes pollutants and help with conditions such as constipation, acne, eczema, psoriasis, osteoarthritis and gout. It also, "increase bile flow in your gallbladder and improves how your body processes fat and cholesterol". (James A. Duke, Healing Foods p. 186)
